New Haven Leaf Pick up

Leaves

The New Haven Utility Department will begin its annual, leaf only, pick up in October. Leaves that are picked up are recycled into compost, which is available free to the public at the Utility Complex located at 2201 Summit Street.

Bagged leaves WILL NOT be accepted as this will inhibit the pick up process and the bags are not conducive to composting.  Leaves should be ready on the first pick up day of the week that crews are scheduled to be in your part of the city.

Leaves must be raked onto the park strip between the sidewalk and curb (not in the street), and away from street signs, poles, mailboxes and parked cars. All leaves will be picked up as close to the published schedule as possible.
